A 67-year-old woman from Telenesti district died after developing complications of AH1N1 flu. The information was confirmed for IPN by the director of the Telenesti District Hospital Alexei Bivol.
According to specialists of the National Public Health Center, the woman was diagnosed with pneumonia, pulmonary edema and heart failure. She died in the hospital on January 29.
Head of the Center’s press service Ion Nistor has told IPN that this is the first case of death from flu-related complications in the 2015-2016 influenza season. The data about the number of cases of flu and respiratory infections will be made public in the second half of the day.
A working meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Social Problems Gheorghe Brega will be held in the Government Building today, February 2, to discuss the epidemiological situation in the country. The meeting starts at 3pm.
