The first 22 beneficiaries of the First House Municipal Program have moved into their new homes. These are apartments were bought on the secondary market. Maria Banari, the program coordinator, said during the City Hall's ordinary meeting on Monday that another 7 beneficiaries who opted for mansard apartments would get the key to their new homes in September, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Maria Banari, those who have already moved in are satisfied by the program. “They’re happy with the low interest of the credit and the possibility to pay for the apartment in rates. The most discontent is caused by the procedures of obtaining the credit”, she said. So far, 1000 applications have been accepted, including 144 requests for the block on Ghioceilor Street. 570 applications didn’t specify the offer the applicant opted for. The bank has approved 61 credit requests, 38 of which have already been signed. “It’s great we approved 61 files with bank credits in a few months. This is like a double block of flats. We’d like these figures to rise to hundreds, but this can be achieved only gradually, considering the program is our first experience of this kind”, said Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. The credits offered as part of the First Home Program have an annual interest rate of 9% and mature in 10 to 30 years. Until the loan is fully repaid, the beneficiaries will mortgage their apartments to the bank.
