Fires cause new victims

A man died, while two other men needed hospital treatment after inhaling fumes from fires caused by burning cigarettes.
Dorina Cru, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, told Info-Prim Neo that a man aged 65 was discovered dead in his house in Cania village of Cantemir district on March 11 in the evening. The man fell asleep with a burning cigarette, which set the bed clothes on fire.
The same evening, two men were rescued from fire in Leova town. The owner of the apartment and his guest drank alcohol all day long. In the evening, one of them dropped a burning cigarette on the bed. Closer to midnight, a neighbor felt smoke, forced the door and entered the apartment. The guest was lying on the floor, while the owner was trying to put out the fire. The men were rushed to the district hospital.
A Higer bus parked in Soroca town burst into flames as a result of a short circuit. It was destroyed by fire in only several minutes.
Seven fires happened in Moldova on Thursday and Friday night.
