Firefighters battle storehouse blaze for more than 8 hours

A storehouse with furniture materials in Chisinau's Botanica district burned almost to the ground in what firefighters called the biggest fire in recent years, Info-Prim Neo reports. The fire at the storehouse on Decebal Boulevard started on Sunday early in the morning. Over 200 firefighters on 23 fire engines were deployed to the scene. They were able to put out the blaze after more than 8 hours of struggle and a group of firefighters remained at the scene for observation. Apart from furniture materials, the storehouse also contained varnish, flammable solutions, 20 cylinders with oxygen and 40 others with gas. Fortunately no one was injured. 500 square meters of storage area was destroyed. The case is investigated.
