Fire on Salcamilor St blamed on short circuit

The fire that happened on Salcamilor Street in Chisinau was most probably caused by a short circuit, say specialists. The fire cannot be blamed on a gas cylinder as there would have been an explosion, the head of Botanica district Vladimir Guritenco said at Tuesday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hal. The fire broke out on Monday night. Two apartments were destroyed completely, while another one was seriously damaged, Info-Prim Neo reports. The owners of the three apartments are staying at their friends and relatives. The Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that if the apartments are not insured, their owners could receive aid from the municipal reserve fund to repair them. A fire destroyed 3.5 hectares of forest in Petricani area of Chisinau on Monday. The firefighters managed to extinguish the fire. On the same day, a fire started in an apartment on Branistii Street. The female owner of the apartment got poisoned and was hospitalized.
