Fire kills man

A man has died being suffocated by fumes from a fire occurred in his house. According to the Emergency Situations Department, the fire broke on November 1, just after midnight. While extinguishing the fire, the body of a 59-year-old was found in the house. The first investigations showed that the fire was caused by a lit cigarette,. Another similar fire was registered in Balti municipality. An intoxicated woman has fallen asleep with a cigarette end. Fortunately, she was saved before being suffocated. Two fires were caused by bad stoves – the first one in Zagarancea village, Ungheni district, and another one in Bubuieci, Chisinau municipality. The fire brigade managed to save the both houses. On Wednesday, there were registered 8 fires in Moldova. From the beginning of the year, the number of fires amounts to 2078, resulted in 183 casualties, including 11 children.
