A large fire started at the National Stadium in Chisinau, where dry trees and branches were stored on a temporary basis, in the morning of July 24. Seventeen firefighting vehicles intervened and the firemen still fight to bring the blaze under control, IPN reports.
Deputy head of the Chisinau Emergencies Division Liviu Merzancu, in the ordinary Monday meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, said the fire covered a very large area. A number of 17 firefighting vehicles and 80 firemen are working at the scene.
Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu instructed to take emergency measures to prevent the spread of fire and other fires in places where dry tree branches are stored in the city.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, no one was hurt.
