The municipality of Chisinau found the fir tree that will be placed in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau for the winter holidays. The tree is about 18 meters in height and has grown in the yard of a resident of Cosernita village of Criuleni district for 40 years, IPN reports.
The head of the Green Areas Association Eliferii Haruta said the fir tree will be brought to the central square of Chisinau on November 26. It costs about 15,000 lei. For its transportation and decoration, the Chisinau City Hall will spend another 15,000 lei.
Initially, the municipality intended to buy a 16-meter high fir from Orhei district, but in the end it chose the higher tree.
