Russia is preparing to recognize the Moldovan Transnistrian Republic, said Fiodor Ghelici. The activist called on the President of the Republic of Moldova and the President of Ukraine to settle the Transnistrian conflict and put forward a proposal.

Fiodor Ghelici presents himself as the ambassador and resident representative of the International Organization for Economic Development (IOED) in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, head of the Regional Office in Moldova for Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine. He is also the official representative of the IOED at the UN in Geneva, the representative of the International Congress for the Protection of the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens SHIELD and the representative of the International Union of Diplomats in the Republic of Moldova.

In a news conference hosted by IPN, Fiodor Ghelici said the Commission for Exceptional Situations (CES) was created to suppress the opposition. It violates the Constitution, the human rights. It seems that the CES undertook to choose who should contend in elections and who should not. Moldova should expect complaints to be submitted to international courts about the violation of human rights in elections. The activist considers there are no reasons to keep the state of emergency in Moldova.

Fiodor Ghelici noted that he possesses information that Russia intends to recognize the Transnistrian region as an independent state. If this happens, only the authorities of the Republic of Moldova will be to blame. He called upon the Parliament and the President to invite the Transnistrian leaders to discussions. If these do not come, the Parliament should adopt a law on the formation of the Transnistrian territorial-administrative unit, similar to Gagauzia. This way, Moldova will state its wish and final decision.

Fiodor Ghelici suggested that Moldova’s President Maia Sandu and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky should urgently discuss and open the border crossing points in Kuchurgan and Platonova so that the motor vehicles and passenger transport could pass.

The activist said that the hostilities in Ukraine represent a tragedy. The people there lack basic necessities, are angry and are ready “to besiege Kyiv”.
