After talking with the public, members of Moldova Mea have come to the conclusion that most people don’t want snap elections, stated Fiodor Ghelici, the president of the civic organization. But if this happens, he added, many will vote for extra-parliamentary parties as an expression of protest or boycott the vote altogether.

Ghelici said during a press conference it’s unlikely that any party could secure a clear majority to form a government in the eventuality of snap elections, and thus recommended the current parliamentary parties to accept President Igor Dodon’s invitation to have a tripartite talk tomorrow. The activist added that that the MPs should move quickly and vote in a Government.

“If you don’t prove yourselves capable of forming a coalition, if you aren’t able to leave personal ambitions aside and work in the next few years to show everybody that we have smart, pragmatic, professional people in government, people that can put the best interests of our country first, then I pity you”, declared Fiodor Ghelici.

In his opinion, the only one that is not afraid of snap elections is the Shor Party, which will accumulate more votes due to the “trust it inspires in people with its concrete actions”. According to Ghelici, the Democratic Party also has nothing to worry about, as it won the pensioners over with the government payouts for Christmas and Easter.

Ghelici went on to criticize Igor Dodon for “not doing anything for the people” since he became president two years ago. Ghelici thinks that the Socialist Party’s popularity has been affected by this and the Russians no longer trust Dodon as “their man”.

The civic organization Moldova Mea has over 700 members, according to Fiodor Ghelici.
