The State Tax Service in January imposed fiscal sanctions of 495,000 lei and contravention sanctions of 361,000 lei. The tax inspectors conducted a total of 362 inspections and identified violations of the law in 253 cases, IPN reports.
In February, inspections will be carried out in the following areas: retail trade of goods and products, especially in shops; provision of services in the hospitality industry; trade in flowers and precious metal items; trade on online platforms; beauty/care and health services; transport of passengers by taxi.
According to the State Tax Service, the purpose of inspections is to monitor the activities of taxpayers in order to ensure compliance with the provisions on the issuance of receipts, the declaration of all income, as well as the possession of documents of origin for the goods put up for sale.
Taxpayers are urged to comply with the fiscal regulations and carry out economic activities transparently. The citizens are recommended to request the sales slip and report fiscal violations by calling the State Tax Service’s Telephone Centre on 0 8000 1525.
