Financing of parties from state budget delayed

The parliamentary parties will be financed by the state starting with July 2013, not from 2009 as it was initially planned. The MPs voted unanimously to postpone the implementation of the given decision owing to the economic crisis, Info-Prim Neo reports. The financing of parties proportionally to the number of votes polled in the local elections will take place from July 1, 2011, as it was decided earlier. Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase said that the state does not abandon its obligations. Given the economic crisis, the implementation of the given decision will be only delayed. The law on political parties says that the parties will benefit from financing of 0.2% of the state budget revenues projected for a given year.
