The Government decided to set up the Public Procurement Agency by reorganization through division, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Agency will be administered by the Ministry of Finance and will have 26 employees, two of whom will be executives. Under the Agency’s regulations approved by the executive, the new institution will formulate and implement normative documents concerning public procurement and will ensure the transparency and efficiency of the procurement from public money. It is obliged to treat equally all the economic entities that participate in the public procurement process and to prevent and combat disloyal competition on the market. The Agency will be also responsible for the publication of the Public Procurement Bulletin and for updating the website on procurement through the Internet. Earlier, the abovementioned tasks had been carried out by the Agency for Material Reserves, Public Procurement and Humanitarian Aid.
