A number of economic entities selling liquefied petroleum gas in the municipality of Chisinau and in the northern districts of the country defrauded the clients by volume and price. The irregularities were discovered by the Consumer Protection Agency that carried out a number of unplanned inspections following a number of petitions it received, IPN reports.
The main illegality identified by the inspectors was the use of damaged metering devices that didn’t meet the metrological norms. The companies also didn’t have a register to record the oil products received. They were issued with prescriptions for removing the irregularities and will be fined 10,000 to 14,000 lei.
The end-users are asked to inform the Consumer Protection Agency on the hotline 022 741 464 and on 0 800 280 28 (free call from the country’s districts) if they identify violations.
