Filat in Brussels: We are optimistic that we will do everything we projected in relations with EU

Acting Prime Minister Vlad Filat delivered a speech on the political situation and European prospects of Moldova at the Summit of the European People’s Party in Brussels. He spoke about the irreversible European integration course of Moldova and voiced hope that all the problems will be solved, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Government, the acting Premier stressed the necessity of the European partners continuing to support Moldova in the European integration process. “We are optimistic that we will do everything we projected in the relations with EU. While we are holding the posts on an interim basis, we continue to fulfill the commitments made to the EU,” said Vlad Filat. Vlad Filat conferred with the European Commission President José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The discussions centered on the political situation in Moldova and the negotiations for forming a new pro-European government in Moldova. The interlocutors approved of the progress made by Moldova in the relations with the EU and expressed their conviction that Moldova will succeed in overcoming the political crisis.
