“My country (the Republic of Moldova – e.n.) deserves being regarded and treated in a new manner as it is open for dialogue and committed to respecting the European values,” Prime Minister Vlad Filat said Wednesday at the beginning of the Donors' Consultative Group Meeting for Moldova held in Brussels, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Government's press service. Vlad Filat said that the foreign partners' opinion about the development line that Moldova should follow is very important. “We came with an ambitious, but realistic agenda from Moldova. We are convinced that we can do many things together,” the Premier said. He expressed his gratitude to the development partners, thanking especially the World Bank and the European Commission for organizing this event. “Your generosity and commitment help us cope with the economic, financial and social difficulties,” Filat said. Hugues Mingarelli, Deputy Director General of the European Commission's Directorate General for External Relations, praised the Filat Government for signing the agreement with the IMF and launching activities aimed at stabilizing the economic situation. “The European integration is a strategic priority for Moldova. The state needs assistance to develop,” the European official said. Martin Raiser, Wold Bank Country Director for Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine, said “the situation in Moldova is difficult, but this country deserves the donors' support.”
