Filat and Shevchuk will meet this week

Later this week Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat will meet with Tiraspol leader Yevgeny Shevchuk. The announcement was made by Filat during a TV program, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Prime Minister said he had a phone conversation with Shevchuk on Saturday, September 15, and scheduled the meeting. “Nobody said this was a simple process, but only that an important step was made. We have the negotiation format, communication includes all the areas and the work groups meet periodically. We communicate well with Yevgeny Shevchuk and this is the main platform to move forward”, said the Prime Minister. Vlad Filat’s last meeting with Shevchuk took place in Germany on the margins of a high-level conference dedicated to confidence-building measures among the two sides of the Nistru. The conference was organized by the OSCE in th German town of Rottach-Egern during July 20-23.
