The behavior of the Communist Party (PCRM), which calls on the people to take to the streets on November 3 to take part in a counter-protest to the demonstration that the parties of the government coalition intend to stage, is similar to that witnessed during the April 7, 2009 events and is extremely dangerous for society. The Communists aim to destabilize the internal situation so as to compromise Moldova’s European integration, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat and the chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said in the program “Replica” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.

According to Vlad Filat, the PCRM hopes to cause conflicts in society and to separate the people and maintain barricades. “What they do is very serious. They mobilize the people in order to cause social tensions on November 3. It seems to me that the calls launched during the April 7, 2009 events and the current behavior of the PCRM are very similar. I think a clear answer is to be given now by the people’s participation and by the steps that the state institutions must take to maintain public order and to ensure the rule of law,” he stated.

Marian Lupu said Communists’ actions are aimed at thwarting the steps taken by the government to fulfill the European agenda. “The actions are aimed at hampering the work of Parliament and at imposing their own agenda. They try to discredit the European course. I do not rule out that these actions are taken under external influence,” he added.

The head of the group of Liberal reformers in Parliament Ion Hadarca said the political class disapproves of the November 3 event and this is a kind of political jealousy.

The three parties of the Pro-European Coalition will mount a pro-Moldova demonstration on November 3.

The opposition party - the PCRM – weekly stages protests against the current government, seeking early elections. The protests started at the end of September.
