Fewer incidents occurred at local elections than at parliamentary elections, Promo-LEX

While the members of the Promo-LEX Observation Mission reported 1020 incidents at the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019, the number of reported incidents was 743 at the local elections of October 20. The data is available in the election incident monitoring report, presented at an IPN press conference by the head of the Promo-LEX Election Observation Mission, Pavel Postica.

According to the report, 24 cases of observer obstruction were signaled during the parliamentary elections, while seven observer obstruction cases occurred during the local elections. "68 attempts of bribery or bribery of voters were reported at the parliamentary elections, while 16 cases took place in the local elections of October 20", said Pavel Postica.

Additionally, the report showed that 91 voter transportation cases were signaled during the parliamentary elections in winter, while 15 cases were reported at the local elections.

Promo-LEX observers reported 31 cases of violence or intimidation of voters at the local elections of October 20, compared to 34 cases at the parliamentary elections of February 24.

The Observation Mission report identified 85 cases of shortcomings in the electoral lists, compared to 127 cases at the parliamentary elections. Violation of the secrecy of the vote was reported in 110 cases at the parliamentary elections and in 49 cases at the local elections.

According to the report, the most affected by the incidents were the voters, followed by the candidates and the election officials, while the voters were the ones that caused incidents the most, followed by election officials and candidates.

The members of the Observation Mission were present at 757 out of 1969 polling stations. The general data has a +/- 2.8% error margin.
