Festival of Romanian Traditions returns to Chisinau

The Festival of Romanian Traditions, aimed at promoting Romanian traditions in Moldova and strengthening bilateral cultural dialogue, returns to Chisinau for a second edition. Running May 17-19 at the Botanical Garden, the Festival will feature music and crafts from all the historical communities of Romania.

The public will have free access to exhibitions of traditional objects, craft workshops, folk dances, traditional music and concerts by established bands, but also from the new wave of Romanian music. The heritage of the historical regions such as Moldova, Transylvania, Dobrogea, Maramureș, Crișana, Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia and Bucovina will be presented and explained to the Moldovan public in a friendly atmosphere.

During the three evenings of the Festival, the public will be treated to performances by Ovidiu Lipan Țăndărică, Fanfara Zece Prăjini, Stelu Enache and Diana Bucșa, Robin and The Backstabbers, with Domino as the opening act, and Direcția 5.

Along with the more than 30 artisans from Romania, popular artists from the Republic of Moldova will also be present at the Chisinau Botanical Garden.

The Festival of Romanian Traditions is funded and organized by the Romanian Government’s Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova, under the high patronage of President Klaus Iohannis.
