The “Festival of Romanian Traditions”, which has been the broadest event aimed at promoting the Romanian people’s art in the Republic of Moldova the last few years, will take place at the Botanical Garden in Chisinau during May 12-14. Access to the festival is free of charge, IPN reports.

For the first time, tens of craftspeople and people’s artists who represent all the geographical regions of Romania will exhibit the traditions to the public in Chisinau, alongside craftspeople from the Republic of Moldova.

“We want to facilitate the unrestricted access of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to old Romanian traditions and crafts that have been passed on from generation to generation. Practically, for three days we move the traditional Romania to Chisinau for promoting the common values and for enjoying the excellent relations that exist today between Romania and the Republic of Moldova,” said the secretary of state of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova Adrian Dupu.

The “Festival of Romanian Traditions” opens the anniversary program “Ciprian Porumbescu” that was initiated and financed by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Government of Romania under the High Patronage of the President of Romania, H.E Klaus Werner Iohannis.

Among those who will perform on the stage of the “Festival of Romanian Traditions” in the evening of May 12 and May 13 are famous Romanian artists, namely Loredana Groza, Nicolae Furdui Iancu, Mioara Velicu, Tulnicăresele Moațele of Câmpeni, and also renowned Moldovan artists like the Osoianu Sisters, Ad Libitum Voices, X.O.
