Festival of Ethnicities to take Place in the Capital City on September 17

The festival of ethnicities which takes place, traditionally, on the third Sunday of September will take place, his year, on September 17. A work session regarding the organization of the festival took place at the Chisinau City Hall, with the attendance of responsible persons within the municipal services and representatives of the 24 ethnicities from the Chisinau municipality. According to the festival director, Tudor Bodrug, this year’s edition is part of the series of manifestations organized on the 15 years of independence of the R. Moldova celebrations. The festival will take place in the “Stefan cel Mare” Public Garden and will start with a laying of flowers at the monument of the king. In the public garden, representatives of each ethnicity will have the possibility to present their culture, traditions and national dishes. The manifestation will end with a “friendship hora”. The Chisinau Municipal Council has allocated 40 thousand lei for the carrying out of the festival. Tudor Bodrug said that these financial means are insufficient, since the real necessities constitute 65 thousand. The festival of ethnicities has reached its seventh edition.
