The nuances of ethnic and cultural diversity could be followed at the national Festival of Ethnic Communities that is held under the slogan “Unity Through Diversity”. The 21st edition of the festival will take place in the central park of Chisinau on September 18, IPN reports.
Those interested in national cultural diversity will be able to visit ethnic yards, to watch performances by known artists and ensembles of national minorities. National costumes, traditional dances and many intercultural events, such as exhibitions and presentations, can be seen by those who wish to familiarize themselves with the intercultural profoundness, characteristics and challenges in the country, the Interethnic Relations Agency of Moldova noted in a press release.
On September 17, the festival will be held in Taraclia town. Among the planned cultural activities are the parade of national costumes and artistic groups taking part in the festival, a ceremony to lay flowers at the monument to Stephan the Great in Taraclia and the festive inauguration of the 21st edition of the festival.
The event is organized by the Interethnic Relations Agency in partnership with the Chisinau City Hall, the Coordinating Council of ethnic and cultural organizations and the local public authorities.
