A woman from Corjova village of Criuleni district, who is held in the penitentiary in Rusca, informed the ombudswoman for children's rights Tamara Plamadeala that her 17-year-old son who remained at home without supervision is maltreated by the police officers working in the settlement. Tamara Plamadeala asked the police to investigate the case, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communique, the ombudswoman says that the minor lives with his grandparents who are old and cannot influence him. The teen dared even to hit them. The boy is now missing. His whereabouts are unknown. Ombudswoman Tamara Plamadeala considers that not the child, but the local authorities and the community are to blame in this case as they did not take steps to ensure a good environment for his education, even if his mother is behind bars. Tamara Plamadeala said most of the cases of the kind appear in families where the parents drink, do not work and do not look after the children.
