A man from Clocușna village of Ocnița district lost control of the vehicle while traveling through the village and crashed his car into a tree on the side of the road. The impact was so serious that the passenger, a 43-year-old woman, died on the spot.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, press officer of the Ocnița Police Inspectorate Svetlana Talpă said that the 53-year-old driver lost control of the steering wheel for unknown reasons. He was transported to the hospital for medical care and to have biological samples taken to determine whether or not he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The results of the examination are not ready yet.
The police continue the investigations to establish all the circumstances in which the road accident occurred.
