February heat bills up by 20%

The Chisinau residents will pay for heat for February by 5 lei per square meter more than for January, which is a 20% rise, the head of the municipal company “Infocom” Ion Margineanu said in the March 12 meeting of City Hall officials, Info-Prim Neo reports. The calculations were done based on a total consumption of 213,000 gigacalories used to heat 184,000 apartments. A sum of 210 million lei was calculated for payment. “30,800 apartments or 17% of all the apartments will pay about 500 lei for heat, 45,800 apartments - 500 to 1 000 lei, 61,200 apartments – 1 000 to 1 500 lei, 32,500 apartments – 1 500 to 2 000 lei, while approximately 14,000 apartments – over 2 000 lei,” said Ion Margineanu. The cost of heating a square meter of area is 29.31 lei on average. Until March 1, there were paid 49.7% of the heat bills, or 154 million lei.
