The Parliament's Standing Bureau is to decide if the constitutional amendment proposal submitted by the PCRM will be included in the agenda of the plenary sitting or not. The legal commission for appointments and immunities Wednesday took no decision as regards the PCRM's request to withdraw the proposal, allowing the Stranding Bureau to pronounce on the issue, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the commission's chairman Victor Popa, the Parliament's regulations do not say if the constitutional proposals approved by the Constitutional Court can be withdrawn by the authors. “We will discuss this subject and I think we will request the legislature that is the supreme body to take a decision. The legislative body can accept the withdrawal or not,” said Victor Popa. The political players and analysts have different opinions on the matter. Earlier, Speaker Marian Lupu said only the legal commission for appointments and immunities can decide whether to withdraw the PCRM's proposal or not. The Communist lawmakers say their initiative is not more relevant in the present political situation and the only solution to the political crisis is to elect an apolitical head of state.
