Fatal night for two pedestrians

An employee of a Cahul sanitation company and a man from a village of Falesti district were crushed to death under the wheels of cars last night. Dana Andronic, PR specialist of the Traffic Police Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that a woman aged 60 was sweeping the road early in the morning when she was struck by a VAZ-2109 driven by a 27-year-old man. Being under the influence, he did not see the woman. Several hours earlier, a Mercedes-210 lethally hit a pedestrian aged 55 in Calugar village, Falesti. The 22-year-old driver was speeding. The driver of a MAZ truck fell asleep while driving. The vehicle went out of control, made a U-turn and went into a tree on Tighinei St in Causeni town. A passenger aged 54 suffered a cranial-cerebral trauma and facial injuries. Two persons were killed in the national road accidents last night. The traffic police on Thursday fined 22 drivers for DUI.
