From February 16, the apostille certification services – the legalization of a document for international use – will be of a higher quality and will be provided faster. The regulations concerning the use of the apostille and the classified list of works performed and services provided enable the clients to validate the apostille during six hours or one day.
The Apostille Division, which is the only authority entitled to put the apostille on the documents of the Moldova people, was created by order of the Ministry of Justice.
The Division's head Cristina Bajurean said the term of the apostillation procedure was reduced, but the number of relatives who can apply instead of other persons was increased. “From February 16, this right will be given to the relatives of the third and fourth degrees. This is very appropriate given that many Moldovans work abroad,” Bajurean said.
Earlier, only the relatives up to the second degree and the husband or wife could apply instead of someone else to have the apostile validated. The primary cousins, nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles, grandchildren and grandparents will also be entitled to such a right besides spouses, children, parents, grandchildren and grandparents. They do not need to present the power of attorney.
The Apostille Division works in the building of the Ministry of Justice. For online appointments, the applicants should access the Ministry's website and choose the day and hour when they can submit the necessary documents.
