The farmers from Dubasari district haven’t yet obtained access to the farmland situated beyond the Tiraspol-Camenca road because the political representatives of Chisinau and Tiraspol to the Transnistrian conflict settlement process could not reach a compromise over the issue in the last meeting either, IPN has learned from the Reintegration Office.

According to a communiqué of the Reintegration Office, in the meeting held last weekend there were continued the discussions on topical subjects, in particular Dubasari farmers’ access to the farmland located beyond the Tiraspol-Camenca road. The Moldovan side reiterated that the discussed mechanisms must not infringe farmers’ ownership rights. The Moldovan delegation pleaded for allowing again the farmers who obeyed the mechanism agreed in 2006 to have free access to the farmland. The delegation continued to look for practical solutions that would ensure free access to the farmland, including by laying down technical conditions that are to be met by farmers in the process of cultivating the land, creating joint mechanisms for monitoring the state of the land and others. The discussions on the issue will continue.
