The quality of the agrifood products not always meets the demands of consumers and the international standards. The producers do not realize the necessity of implementing new technologies that enable to produce ecological, healthy goods. Therefore, the informing of the producers about the possibilities offered by these technologies is very important, especially in a country where the agrifood sector plays such a major role, said Doctor Notis Argiriou, of the Center for Research and Technology Hellas of the Agrobiotechnology Institute of Greece, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. In an information session on Inno-Food SEE Project, Notis Argiriou said the objective is to work out support mechanisms for implementing innovations and new technologies in the agrifood sector. The project was launched in September 2011 and brings together 12 partners- agrifood scientific research institutes and business supporting organizations from Greece, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Moldova, and Ukraine. Vladimir Didilica, deputy head of the Chamber of Trade and Industry, said that the healthy products, of a high quality, are more popular with the consumers. Dorel Bezniuc, representative of the Association of Young Farmers of the National Farmers Federation of Moldova, said that he has taken part in this information session together with other young farmers. “I breed rabbits. I want to find out more about the new technologies of breeding rabbits at industrial level. I hope to find partners from whom to buy new, highly-productive breeds of rabbits,” said the young man. The Inno-Food SEE Project is financed by the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Program.
