Actor, stage manager and artistic director of the Municipal Puppet Theater “Guguta” Victor Stefaniuc is being buried today, February 24. The artist, who is well-known for the role of mouse Fofarlica that he played in a TV program for children, will be buried at Doina Cemetery near his mother, according to his wish. The funeral starts at 11.00.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, friends and colleagues of Victor Stefaniuc said he was a kind man with a heart of child.
Minister of Culture Boris Focsa said Victor Stefaniuc was a master in the field. “He was an extraordinary man who tried to defend his art. He made a special contribution to our culture and spiritual development,” the minister said.
Titus Jukov, director of the National Puppet Theater “Licurici”, said that though they were rivals, Victor Stefaniuc was his friend. “I'm proud that Victor Stefaniuc played parts in my plays at the start of his career.
Afterward, he wanted to found a theater and succeeded in doing this. He was a good manager and a good actor,” the director said.
The chairman of the Union of Plastic Artists Ghenadie Jalba said that by his roles and things he did at “Guguta”, Victor Stefaniuc brought joy and spiritual satisfaction to the spectators. “I think he was and remains an example we should follow if we want to rectify things. He was the right man at the right place and did his job the best he knew,” Jalba said.
Victor Stefaniuc died on the night to Sunday, February 21. He was suffering from an incurable disease. On April 7, the actor would have turned 63. He had worked in the theater for 40 years. He played roles in over 100 plays and staged more than 50 production.
