The future of any country and the prosperity of the state do not depend only on the economic situation, but also on the demographic situation and the number of families. The family is one of the values inherited for centuries and this should be transmitted to the future generations. At the same time, the education given by the parents to chilldren since young will shape the family of the future. Such opinions were stated in the ceremony that closed the World Congress of Families held in Chisinau during September 14-16, IPN reports.

President Igor Dodon said we are obliged to keep what we inherited from our grandparents and to pass on these values to the next generations.Article 48 of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova first twenty years provided that the family is formed by a man and a woman. Attempts were made to eliminate this formula and to spread seeds that would destroy the traditional Christian values. More organization is needed to prevent something like this.

Archbishop Dmitry Smirnov, the official representative of the Patriarch of Russia Kirill, said that besides tangible things on which some lay emphasis at present, there are spiritual values and the family is one of the values that was kept in time. The Christian family is the best place for educating a person as a baby, when this is born, should have a loving mother and father near. These values should be protected vehemently by the state as well.

Archbishop Alexii Cșutașvili from Georgia, Doctor of Theology, said the problems related to the family, such as the foundation of a family and divorce, are not related to a particular country. Many generations of families have been raised by parents who do not have time to take care of children and to devote the necessary attention to them. In such conditions, the young people, when they start a family, are not able to maintain this, including from economic, social, psychological and religious viewpoints. In several years, in a similar event, the participants could speak about greater progress made in their states.

Theologist Alexei Osipov, professor of the Moscow Theological Academy, said the family is the cell of society. Even if unfaithfulness and financial problems are often invoked when the decision to divorce is taken, the reasons are not exactly these. The problems come from inside. To prevent the dismemberment of families, increased attention should be devoted to the younger generations, more exactly the education of children, Too great emphasis is placed on the leadership skills that are implanted in children, but selfishness is stimulated this way. The children should be responsible for their deeds and should not get used to living in comfort only.

The World Congress of Families was held under the aegis of President of Moldova Igor Dodon.
