Family injured in car accident

A family was hospitalised with diverse traumas following a road accident on Thursday night in the intersection of Dacia Boulevard and Aeroportului Street in Chisinau. According to Chisinau Traffic Safety Service Inspector Ion Roscovanu, the accident involved a Volkswagen-Golf car, with the driver and his wife, both aged 42, and their daughter, 16, and an Iveco truck, with a 56-year-old driver. The powerful impact caused traumas to all persons in the two vehicles. Thus, the Volkswagen-Golf driver got a cerebral concussion, his wife – head wound, daughter –left leg fracture, and the truck’s driver – cerebral concussion. Also on Thursday night, a VAZ-2110 car, driven by a 50-year-old man on Gradina Botanica Street, skidded off the road and hit a standing KAMAZ truck. The car’s driver suffered a cerebral concussion. A Mazda car with Dubasari registration car plates hit a 59-year-old man on Calea Basarabiei and caused him a cranial-cerebral trauma. Over the last day and night in Chisinau, police registered seven road accidents with 9 injured persons and another 30 accidents with no victims. Ten drivers were fined for drunk-driving, 29 for neglecting the traffic lights, 42 for speeding, and 13 pedestrians were fined jaywalking.
