A family died in a house fire in Prodăneștii Vechi village of Florești district on December 4. Firefighters found the partially carbonized bodies of a man aged 56, a woman aged 38 and a three-year-old child, IPN reports.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said the fire fully destroyed an old home. Non-observance of the fire safety rules when using stoves fueled by solid fuel, wood and coal is a preliminary version of the fire.
According to statistics of the Inspectorate, the 1,673 fires that happened in Moldova so far this year claimed 116 lives. Two of the victims were children.
Firefighters urge examining the stoves before using them so as to see if the ventilation channels are not blocked, ventilating well the rooms and putting out the fire before going to sleep.
