Ten more days remained until the October 31 deadline by which the medically insured and uninsured persons can replace the family doctor and the primary medical institution. Those who want to do this must submit an application to the chosen institution and must indicate the contact data, including the mobile and fixed phone numbers and email address, in it, IPN reports.
The National Health Insurance Company said the registration can be made at one primary medical institution and it is recommended choosing the institution that is closer to the place of residence. Those who choose to use the services of a family doctor from an institution that serves another territory will have to cover, if necessary, the costs incurred by the family doctor’s team to travel to their domicile.
The primary medical institution and the family doctor can be replaced once a year, in the period between September 1 and October 31. If the name of the family doctor is not mentioned in the application, this will be chosen by the institution. The primary medical assistance will be provided according to the new application starting with January 1, 2017. Until the end of this year, the applicant will benefit from assistance at the institution where he/she was registered earlier.
