The Cabinet on October 24 decided that the families from December 1 will receive free sets of essential articles for newborns. The set will include clothes for newborns, underwear, diapers and care products and also a plush toy and a resistant box where the baby can be put to sleep, IPN reports.
All the articles will be of national makes, except for the diapers. A set was estimated at 2,000 lei.
The sets will be distributed through the agency of public or private medical-sanitary institutions that provide maternity services or will be supplied at home.
To implement the program, over 5.6 million lei will be allocated from the 2018 state budget for implementing the program. About 68 million lei will be needed for the purpose in 2019.
