Famed artist Glebus Sainciuc dies aged 93

Celebrated painter, graphic and mask artist Glebus Sainciuc died this morning, aged 93, Info-Prim Neo reports. At his 93rd anniversary in July, those who acclaimed him said Glebus Sainciuc's work has earned a place in Moldova's national heritage. Glebus Sainciuc is best known for his vibrant papier-mache masks of famous Moldovan figures, including folk singer Nicolae Sulac, pop singer Anastasia Lazariuc, poets Grigore Vieru and Dumitru Matcovschi, comedian and author Gheorghe Urschi, composer and conductor Gheorghe Mustea and many others.
