Swindlers are distributing email messages with false content using names of public authorities. The General Police Inspectorate calls on the citizens to be vigilant and to check any received information, IPN reports.
Cybercriminals send false citations using email addresses of victims and ask that the addressee should provide different information and also money.
The Inspectorate also reminds of other types of schemes used by swindlers, such as the simulation of a road accident and the calling of relatives of the person who was allegedly involved in the road accident and asking for a large sum of money.
The citizens are encouraged to be attentive to phone calls by which so-called representatives of bank institutions ask for bank card data and can later withdraw money from cards.
Also, the victim’s personal profile on social networking sites can be hacked and the request to provide money is sent to the virtual friends.
The persons who received such meshes or calls are asked to call the 112 Service.
