The delay in performing works to clean the bed of the Byk River is the greatest failure of the Chisinau City Hall in 2013, according to deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu. In a summing-up meeting, the official said that the riverbed cleaning works near Albisoara St would have removed the problem of floods from the very beginning of this year, IPN reports.

Another failure mentioned by Nistor Grozavu is the fact that they didn’t manage to fluidize road traffic by setting up parking lots. Rehabilitation works haven’t been performed on the streets Mesager and Studentilor, which would have enabled to divert large units of transport to the peripheral streets of Chisinau.

Nistor Grozavu admitted that almost nothing was done in 2013 to exclude the overlapping of public and private transport routes and steps weren’t taken to restore and restructure the architectural monuments. The property of Chisinau municipality wasn’t inventoried, but this would have helped deal with construction-related problems.
