Only travellers will have access to the Chisinau International Airport as from August 16, so as to avoid crowdedness, as the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission decided today, IPN reports.

Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco in a press briefing said that digital solutions will be implemented to optimize the prevention and control of the infection. “We will have a single digital vaccine certificate that will be common with the testing, treatment and post-COVID-19 rehabilitation certificate as from October 1, and an electronic system for filling out online the epidemiological form for travellers who cross the state border to enter the Republic of Moldova, also as from October 1,” stated Ala Nemerenco.

Also, the Ministry of Health will cooperate of the e-Governance Agency to create a mobile application for supervising the persons who are obliged to self-isolate or who continue to receive treatment at home.

According to the minister of health, the persons coming from a country that is situated not far from Moldova and have vaccine certificates with the full vaccination scheme, a negative result of the COVID-19 test done within the previous 72 hours or a rapid antigen test done within the previous 24 hours will freely enter Moldova.

Those who will present a medical conclusion showing that they had been infected between the 15th and the 180th day or during the past six months or a certificate showing the presence of antibodies for COVID-19 in Romanian, English, French, German, Italian or Russia, which is valid for 90 days of the investigation, will also be able to travel freely.

The persons who will not meet the aforementioned conditions will be obliged to self-isolate for 14 days, to fill out an epidemiological form and to sign an own responsibility statement. For minors younger than 14, the form and statement will be signed by persons who accompany these. The self-isolation regime can be interrupted on the seventh day if a PCR COVID-19 test or rapid test is done and this is negative.

The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission’s decision takes effect on August 16.
