The export of wheat and sugar from the Republic of Moldova is banned during the state of emergency, as from March 1. A decision to this effect was taken by the Commission for Exceptional Situations, IPN reports.
According to Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița, an analysis showed that the country’s supplies are close to the limit needed for ensuring food security. The decision is important now that the migratory flow is growing and the demand for food products will increase.
The Ministry of Economy, in concert with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, will step up efforts to monitor the fluctuation of prices and the grain stores on the domestic and foreign markets and well weekly report to the Commission for Exceptional Situations.
