A cistern truck that was transporting 30 tons of fuel drifted off the highway, rolling over into a channel near Vicele village, Cantemir district. Fuels were leaked through the channel's outflows. As a result, an explosion hazard emerged in the area, reports Info-Prim Neo. The accident happened on Friday, October 12, around 8pm. The Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service informs that rescuers came to the scene and cleaned the leaks. Rescue teams are doing their best to lift the truck off the highway with the help of a crane. “It is very difficult. Works continued throughout the night, in order to avoid a fire”, communicated Liliana Puscasu, Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service Press Officer. The driver of the truck ended up with bodily wounds, and was transported to the district hospital. The causes of the accident are unknown as of yet.
