Expired croissants and biscuits of 180,000 lei seized in Chisinau

Officers of the Anticorruption Center confiscated expired croissants and biscuits to the value of 180,000 lei from an economic entity operating in Chisinau’s Ciocana district. The products were imported from Ukraine and Bulgaria, Info-Prim Neo reports. The anticorruption officers, in concert with employees of the Consumer Protection Agency, drew up administrative reports against the economic entity over the identified irregularities. The merchandise with the expired use-by date was withdrawn from sale. The company’s manager is liable to a fine of up to 2 000 lei. The fine for a legal entity in such a case is up to 10 000 lei.
