The monotonous political life of the last one an a half year could change in autumn by a series of relatively new political groups, parties created recently and different undetermined factions, which intend to re-launch their political activity, using the next local elections as life-buoy. This is the forecast belonging to the experts of the Economic Policies Center IDIS “Viitorul”, published in the recently launched edition of the “Economic Monitor” for the second trimester, cited by Info-Prim Neo.
According to the experts, the next political battle for obtaining control over Chisinau municipality will be more than a new administrative election. The recent amendments to the administrative structure of the municipality (mayors instead of pretors) and diminishing electoral threshold shows the concern about the electoral absenteeism, the publication reports.
According to the cited sources, serious clashes are possible between the leading party (Communist Party) and the group of leaders of the “constructive opposition”.
The first months of autumn will be critical for the inauguration of a new liberal pole, decoupled from MNA party, and also for strengthening the democratic current through centrist orientation turncoats. These movements of political regrouping lack though leaders capable of taking upon themselves a national-scale cohesion of the opposition. More, the media resources of these forces are insignificant comparing with their direct opponents. But, comparing with the authorities these groups are less affected of government’s erosion and are less hesitant, the quoted sources says.
Also in autumn the true deficiencies of the Moldovan economy will stand out. Comparing with the previous years when abroad remittances had ensured a significant economical increase rate due to the customs taxes collected in 2006, now we witness to reaching the ceiling of extensive indirect growth. Attracting foreign occidental capital remains only a good intention, and in comparison with Ukraine, Moldova is not seen as a functional market economy, which is a great deficiency of image and attractiveness, the experts of IDIS “Viitorul” emphasize.
