Representatives of the extraparliamentary parties and civil society said the break announced by the Party of Action and Solidarity during the Parliament constitution sitting is not condemnable. At the same time, the “hysteria” around this subject shows that the citizens no longer have patience and want immediate changes, said ex-MPs.

According to former MP Vitalia Pavlicenco, the negotiations on the distribution of posts in Parliament are justified. The problem of the new government resides not in the technical aspects of the constitution of the Parliament’s bodies, but in the acute shortage of staff faced by PAS.

“Those who hold a majority of seats in Parliament have also a majority of representatives in commissions and this way they pursue their policies, program. The team of specialists is the biggest problem. The dilemma is if it will be possible to find persons with experience, firmness and competence for the institutions that are to be reformed or a part of the current functionaries will be kept in posts. PAS should not be angry when criticism from all sides will be leveled at it. We just want the massive disappointment of the population to be avoided,” Vitalia Pavlicenco stated in the program “Expertise Hour” on JurnalTV channel.

The representatives of PPPDA said the hesitations of the ruling party are explicable when most of the PAS MPs do not have legislative experience.

“This three-day break is not serious. What should be taken into account is the fact that PAS already is working against time. The hysteria in society starting with Monday shows that the expectations of society are very big and this places PAS in a competition against time. The people no longer have patience and want changes immediately. This break is normal. 80% of the PAS MPs came into contact with politics only when they entered the door of the Parliament Building,” said Ion Terguță, of PPPDA.

Director of the European Institute of Political Studies Viorel Cibotaru said the PAS’s decision to discuss with the opposition all the processes in Parliament shows political maturity. This way, harmonious cooperation between the opposition and the government can be ensured.

“The speed at which the new Parliament is constituted goes beyond any expectation. Everything moves rather swiftly. This pause was necessary rather for ensuring cohesion in Parliament. PAS should create an atmosphere of cooperation in Parliament when many decisions are taken by the absolute majority, including the opposition,” stated Cibotaru.
