Exit poll says Dorin Chirtoaca is likely winner

The exit poll gave Dorin Chirtoaca 52.7% of the vote in the municipality of Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Communist Party’s candidate Igor Dodon won 41% of the vote. The Democratic candidate Valentina Buliga polled 2.3% of the vote, while independent candidate Mihai Godea - 1%. The exit poll also says that the Communist Party won 40.3% of the vote for the Chisinau Municipal Council, the Liberal Party – 37.7%, the Liberal Democratic Party – 15.4%, while the Democratic Party -3.1% of the vote. The poll was commissioned by the television channel Publika TV and conducted by the Center for Sociological Investigations and Marketing CBS-AXA, the Public Policy Institute, the Association for Participative Democracy ADEPT, and the European Institute for Political Studies of Moldova. More than 6,000 persons took part in the exit poll at 55 polling stations. The margin of sampling error is +/- 2%.
