On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration mounted an exhibition entitled “History of Romanian Diplomatic Uniform” in concert twitch the Embassy of Romania in Chisinau, IPN reports, quoting a press release for the Embassy.
In his speech, Ambassador Daniel Ioniță emphasized the special relationship between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, which was short at historical level, but dense and full of substance. “The bilateral relations between the two countries are special as they are based on five pillars: common identity; an exceptional legal framework; solid inter-institutional and interpersonal ties; the fact that Romania is the main commercial and economic partner of the Republic of Moldova, and, last but not least, the empathy and solidarity reaffirmed on the occasion of the mutual support offered in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. Against this general picture, the exhibition of Romanian diplomatic uniforms comes to substantiate the special character of the bilateral relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova,” stated the ambassador.
Romania was the first state that recognized the independence of the Republic of Moldova, said Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu. “Romania has always stood by the Republic of Moldova, both during the first days of independence and in the European integration process. It is important for the diplomats to leave things that last and survive fashion and their activity. Our goal is to make sure that we are outmoded at the next exhibition, while the bridges built by us ensure the proper circulation of the people over the Prut” stated the Moldovan official.
The Ambassador of Romania offered to the library of the Ministry’s Diplomatic Institute several copies of two bilingual works, Romanian and English, written based on archive documents. These are entitled “Romania in the Small Understanding. Defensive Alliance on the Centenary” and “Romania and Poland: a century-old alliance”.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration will host the exhibition until November 5.
