Paintings and graphics of architectural settings of the old Chisinau, made by plastic artists Vitalie Grishchuk and Antonina Grishchuk, will be on display at the National Library starting with March 10. The exhibition “I greet you, Chisinau” was mounted on the occasion of the 585th anniversary of the first documentary attestation of the city, IPN reports.

The works were made in different styles of the visual arts: oil, acrylic on canvass, aquarelle, pen and India ink, gravure on paper.

“The old part of any city is represents first of all the memory, imprinting in architectural form of the past of those people who lived in this city, of those who enjoyed in Chisinau the beauty and joys of life, supported and resisted hard times that the same life regrettably creates, people of different nationalities, religious denominations and political views, who are mostly people with dignity and of good faith, those who created this city,” the National Library says in a press release.

Plastic artists Vitalie Grishchuk and Antonina Grishchuk make effort to immortalize the historical Chisinau, namely the memory of the past. Their works form part of state and private collections in many countries.

The exhibition can be visited in the central block of the National Library, at 78 “A” 31 august 1989 St, until May 31. Entrance is free of charge.
