An exhibition of documents and publications on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of prose writer, novelist, essayist and translator Vladimir Beșleagă was mounted at the National Library in Chisinau. “By this event, we aim to help the young people to better know the life and activity of the master,” stated Veronica Borș, vice director of the National Library, being quoted by IPN.

“Vladimir Beșleagă is one of our few intellectuals who assumed the past with lucidity and pleaded energetically for the ethics of memory in public life and in literary life. In the 1990s, Vladimir Beșleagă became involved in the National Renaissance Movement. He was a member of the first Parliament of independent Moldova and struggled to recover the Romanian values.”

Veronica Borș noted she is pleased to see the master at the library at least once a week. “He is a famous personality not only for our culture, but also for the whole nation. Coming to the library, the young people can not only familiarize themselves with his works, but can also discuss with the master in person,” said the Library’s vice director.

The exhibition titled “Vladimir Beșleagă, Poet of Unwritten Books” consists of documents and publications of the author that are kept in the collections of the National Library. These include novels, children’s books, translations published in different periods of time, newspapers and magazines with publications of the author and articles about Vladimir Beșleagă.

The exhibition can be visited on the second floor of the central block situated at 78 “A”, 31 August 1989 St, until August 15, 2021.
